What the extension uses
- Bookmarks. The extension reads and changes your Chrome bookmarks only to show and organise them. They stay in Chrome.
-
Preferences. Sidebar order, categories, environment rules, the Home look, custom icons and the Home background image are saved in
chrome.storage.localon your computer. - Current tab. When you open the toolbar popup, the extension reads the title and URL of the current tab so that you can save it as a bookmark.
What leaves your computer
The extension sends no bookmarks, titles, full URLs or settings to any server. It loads only these images from the network:
- Official Google app icons (Gmail, Drive and others) from
ssl.gstatic.com. - An icon URL that you add yourself to a Home link.
-
The icon of a Home link that Chrome has no icon for. For this, the extension asks Google's favicon service (
www.google.com/s2/favicons) and sends it only the host name of that link, for examplegithub.com. Local addresses (localhost, IP addresses, names without a dot) are never sent.
These requests follow Google's privacy policy.
What the developer does not do
- Collect, store or sell personal data.
- Share data with third parties, or use it for advertising or credit decisions.
- Use data for any purpose other than the bookmark features of the extension.
